The U.S. District Court Historical Society for the Eastern District of Michigan cordially invites you to attend a special showing of the documentary HOLMES: The Film.

Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes spills irreverent wit and hard-won wisdom looking back at his life on the battlefield and the bench on his 90th birthday in 1931.

HOLMES was originally performed at Arena Stage in Washington, D.C. on October 30, 2023 to a sold-out audience. Future View Productions, under the direction of Bill Goodwin, transformed the live performance into a feature film. But this is not an archival film with a single camera. Futureview used four cameras to shoot the performance and added close-up shots in post-production. HOLMES premiered as a film on June 3, 2024, at the Supreme Court.
