Wade H. McCree, Jr. Luncheon for Social Justice & Pro Bono Recognition
Please join us for the third installment in our signature Four-Part Luncheon Series: the annual Wade H. McCree, Jr. Luncheon for Social Justice!
Join colleagues, members of the federal bench, federal judicial clerks, and practitioners from across the district for an inspiring afternoon dedicated to civil rights, equal justice, and outstanding public service. During this marquee event, we will proudly present the esteemed Wade H. McCree, Jr. Award for the Advancement of Social Justice, while also shining a spotlight on the extraordinary attorneys, legal teams, and law firms whose vital pro bono contributions have expanded meaningful access to justice throughout the Eastern District of Michigan.
About the Wade H. McCree, Jr. Award & Pro Bono Recognition
Named in honor of the trailblazing jurist, legal scholar, and former United States Solicitor General Wade H. McCree, Jr., this award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to advancing social justice, equality, and civil rights within the legal community and society at large. In tandem with honoring Judge McCree’s enduring legacy, this luncheon celebrates the frontline practitioners and dedicated firms whose selfless pro bono service ensures that the courthouse doors remain open to our community’s most vulnerable individuals.
Celebrate Access to Justice
Whether you are attending to celebrate this year’s McCree Award honoree, applaud the invaluable pro bono contributions of our legal community, or connect with colleagues dedicated to public service, this program is one of our most uplifting traditions of the bar year.
